A Digital Garden

So what is a digital garden and why have I chosen this format to form the structure of this website? This quote sums it up quite well.

A garden is a collection of evolving ideas that aren’t strictly organised by their publication date. They’re inherently exploratory – notes are linked through contextual associations. They aren’t refined or complete – notes are published as half-finished thoughts that will grow and evolve over time. They’re less rigid, less performative, and less perfect than the personal websites we’re used to seeing.

This format avoids the pressure of posting well formed and finished articles, the idea of which stresses me out and gives me the freedom to post stuff which I can then return to if I wish and add to later.

It’s the principle of planting seeds, and later nurturing and even pruning.
